As most of you would know, I am keen on blood donation and normally will go for it every fortnight subject to my availability. Since my last donation, it has been one month long for not doing so. Today, I'm not working and just feel like donating.
On the way there, there was a massive traffic jam on the normal route that I will take to the city centre. As first, I thought it was a police road block as that is hot spot for them. 3 lanes, with tree shades, main pathway to the city from kepong and damansara area.
I was stuck for about half an hour there for nothing, and luckily I brought something to read (the same book that I intended to read during blood donation). Previously, I drive while watching tv and now without a pc, I drive while reading.. zzzzz.. Finally I found out that there was no road block and I started to blame others whom I assumed they slowed down to watch any accidents (if any). Luckily, there weren't any. It was the pipe leaking under the main road and they were repairing it and closed 2 lanes. The worst part of it was, the location is just after a traffic light. Judging from normal human behaviours, they will just stop in the middle of the t junction without considering others, thus the massive jam!!
Soon, I reach National Blood Bank, and there were only few donors. Within few minutes, I have registered and went for doctor consultation. Normally, those doctors treat this session like a must-go-through session where they did not even validate the words that come from my mouth (usually I tell lies like: had my breakfast, sleep more than 5 hours, did not take alcohol the night before etc).
The doctor today was a young Malay lady whom Im not familiar with. I never expected that she will asked into such a details. Luckily, today I woke up slightly late and I have allowed myself some room for quibbling.
Labels:
Q = qeustions from the lady doctor
A = my answer to her (my lie)
()= Actual fact
Q : Have enough sleep?
A : Yes (i did have enough though Im still yawning)
Q : How many hours that you slept?
A : 10hours (about the same)
Q : Had your breakfast?
A : Yes (obviously no, and im intended to exchange for the free meal through donation.. haha)
Q : What you had for your breakfast?
A : *fainted* erm.. fried bihun. (my auntie told me that she had reserved some of the bihun for me, phew!)
Q : What time you ate your breakfast?
A : *fainted for second time* err... quite early, about 9 something. (now only i realise how difficult it is when you tell the first lie and subsequently more lies to cover the first one. at this point of time, i afraid she will like backward calculation to see when I sleep or when i wake up, luckily she don't)
Q : Have you went through any operation?
A : No (I did but that was few years ago and normally doctors would ask in a slightly different way for blood donation, like: Any operations done in the last six months? To save the crap, i told her no.)
Q : Are you clear with all the questions?
A : Yes (for regular donors they will jsut tick No for all boxes and din go through the question again. Again, i afraid she will test me what this item is about.Phew)
Q : Do you have sex?
A : No (obviously Im answering to the last part which saying about HIV, whores etc)
Q : Have you ever have sex?
A : *fainted for the third time* No. (and i was wondering is this related to the donation? of course the actual answer is not important here.)
Q : Not even with your girlfriend?
A : *fainted for the forth time* I have no girlfriend.
Note: The above conversation was in Malay and I have translated it into english
Finally with that final answer, she had no more questions and let me go. F**k!! I was like leaving the room with a lot of questions marks.
I was thinking, how come it was so difficult for me to just have blood donation today? I should have get another day instead. This feeling was further enhanced by the third and forth situation below: (however, thats too late for me to switch another day)
I get a nice seat, and a pregnant woman came and served me. She had brought over a wrong liquid which is not supposed for donors. Initially I did not feel anything and just let the pregnant woman proceed. Im having apheresis and not normal blood donation and hence, some kind of equipment installation need to be done. I have waited there while reading. She took about 10minutes and still it was not ready. I was pondering whether she can do it or not. Without showing any worries, I continue with my reading while my heart pumping fast.
The installation from her was complete finally, she started with the testing procedure whether the settings are ok. Shit!!! The machine like giving critical alarms and the thing was just not right. Her colleagues came over and helped her on the settings. They found out like this has been upside down, here was not tight and there was loosening. Again, I was swallowing my saliva! Gulp!!!!
Second testing.... ....................Still Fail!!WTF izit?? I just heard from the nurse:
"Pening kepala lah saya tengok ini tanggal itu tanggal."
(However, she doesn't know that, my head also pening pening having all these in my eyes.)
Another more experienced nurse came over, she said all the tiubs cannot be used anymore, please get a new set instead. This round, everything is ok. Testing all ok. The forth situation:
Usually, I will be donating from my left hand. Nobody had commented on my nerve was difficult to find. I believed my vein is quite clear and obvious as I did not have any complications during blood donation. She was the first one. She said that my nerve is askew. It is difficult for any sort of injection. zzzzzz She asked me can she try on my right hand. Ok fine, to save my time, I just let her be.
With her skill, Im worry that she might hurt me. At normal times, I did not use narcotic. In the meantime I was thinking whether should I use it for this round, she already stick in the needle. Phew!!! Not that pain as I expected.
What a bad experience for my blood donation today!! I guess nurses and doctors at weekends will be better than those on duty at weekday. The only conclusion that I can draw. zzzzzzzzz

Dorcas's Wedding Dinner
She is the first who get married amongst my batch. She is not only my hometown friend, but also we spend 3 years together in Sabah during Uni time. We spent quality time together, and I'm truly happy for her getting a good husband.
Dorcas, best wishes with love...

In Kampar, only Grand Kampar Hotel will have food presentation. This could be quite normal in KL.

They not only presented the food, but then they brought in a banner. I thought it should be some greetings for my friend Alex & Dorcas. However, the banner written: "Food is now to be served." *Fainted*
Some happy moments during the dinner:

Bridegroom & Bride's entertainment

MC was asking us how many times should be the kisses

Sweet sweet...

Oh so fast notty ady?

with friends...

All hometown friends.

All Sabah friends. (im in it of course!! )

Dorcas. you can have your husband 'boobs' tonight.. why me? woo woo

Others...

Leng lui of the night.. haha.. (she is just 22 years old)

Pity..

When will be my turn of getting married? Looking forward to it..
If you remember that in earlier part of this post, we saw the couple presenting some entertainment. Why were them doing so? It's all because the naughty MC. As a result, the bride asked us to help her to fool him instead. Here it goes!!

Cheng Beng 2010
I know that I have not updated by blog for about a month. Previously I have more words posting and now, I will back to picture posting. Perhaps some of you might not able to accept this post in the internet, which is something related to dead people.
For me, I'm ok. Cheng Beng, which is one of the 24 climate as described by the chinese, the day where we pray our ancestors and clean their grave.
'Car Mountain Car Sea'

First 'station'. Not sure what is my relationship with me as he was of few generations ahead.

Moving to second 'station'...

At second 'station', we were at somewhere quite on top of the hill, and this was the consequences of our filial act.

I like her cap as it is not of two pieces, but single piece.

Third 'station'

I'm on fire!!!!

The place where people opted for cremation.

The forth 'station, the station which took quite some of our time to locate. Reason being, she was hidden under the bush.

The fifth & sixth 'station' is just next to each other which ease our life. Phew! And they were the only pair that i knew. They are my grandparents. Miss the day i played chess with my grandpa and also the day which i quarreled with my grandma. =(

I have to set the umbrella for them for a shade.

Before and after!!

Aiks!!

Phew!!! My ever first in driving history!!!
I'm glad that I am still here to update my blog. After the driving thrill that I've just gone through, I have a sigh of relief. Relieving that I was day dreaming just now while driving.
Today is my ever first time to see a real accident happening just in front of my car. My normal style of driving would be fast and furious and I am just like to speed. When i am on the fast lane, I will just follow closely at the back, giving the front driver pressure to go away. When follow closely has fail, I will give right signal + follow closely. When these two have fail, I will just flash him/her my headlight. Keep repeating the above until it moves to the left lane except i can overtake him/her on the left lane.
However, today i'm just not at the mood to speed, but still on the fast lane. I saw a black car (since i do not know the brand, i will just name it blackie) doing the same thing as what i've mentioned above. The Saga in front of him was just dull enough and keep at his own lane. Until certain point of time, this blackie wanna overtake the Saga using the narrow space left on the right lane with another 1m to the divider.
As normal drivers will know, the empty space just near the divider is overspread with sands and dusts. Blackie already fail in his first attempt to utilise this space, his wheels are on sandy area, and he just brake!
What happened next?
I saw him as if like those in the racing movies, having a u-turn through drifting. I can hear the prolonged braking sound, and I was just stunned and quickly have emergency brake. This blackie just lost control and bang to left side. I have no idea what's going to happen next and i just cant get my mind focus and keep driving at a low speed. My heartbeat should be above the normal by then.
I was glad that today I did not follow the blackie so close as i stil have a buffer time to stop. Else, i will be the victim as well. Hopefully those victims in blackie are safe and not injured seriously.
Besides the first of the above, I have another first during my last travel back to Kampar. I do not know why I like to day dream recently while driving.
I missed the exit toll (Tapah) to my house and i was forced to go one station further (Gopeng) and make a big u turn back. This was my first time on the highway between Tapah and Gopeng. As my house is just somewhere in between this two places, I will take the old road if i wanna go Ipoh / Bidor but not the highway. I observed around, and there are alot of greenery along the way. That is not something which can be seen along my way back to KL.
On the same day at night, I day dreamed again and I nearly knock down a motorbike under the rain. I was at the junction turning to my house and i did not expect any things coming from behind to overtake me from my left. I just turned and I heard horn sound with some other 'bi li bu lok' sound. In my heart, SHIT!!!. I'm not at high speed and i just say sorry to the rider through my body gesture. He did not fell down but just scared by me. A deep sorry to him.
Haiz, I do not know why I behave like this recently and i need to be more focus!!!! Damn!

5C's / 7C's
I have attended a full moon dinner not long ago. I met one of my cousin brother who has just got his SPM result. All the relatives were concerning about his results. And of course, previously I was the benchmark of Loh's family for obtaining the highest number of A's in most of the major exams and my cousin sister had pull me down off the fame. =)
But for non-Loh's family member who are my relatives as well, many of them did much more better than me and they were graduated overseas. Anyway, all of these are not my main concern for today topic. LOL.
Back to my cousin brother, he proudly announced that he obtained 7A's in his SPM. They were discussing about his future path, road to be taken, field to enter, etc. Toward the end, my 'stupid' uncle popped out with this sentence.
"Ah Yao (my cousin brother's name), nowadays we are no longer looking at how many A's you have got. Its all about how many C's you have. If you have 10A's but without the 5C's, it is useless as well. Instead of getting 7A's, why not you get 7C's."
All of us know what are the 5C's that a man should have in his lifetime. A man without this five would doomed to be fail in his life. Let's refresh what's are the 5C's.
1 C : Cash (I have petty cash, LOL)
2 C : Card (Have few with low credit limit,LOL)
3 C : Car (I think i own about 20% of it? )
4 C : Condominium (I'm living in a terrace house but it's my family property, hence the one that im greatly lacking of.)
5 C : Career ( I believe i've a pretty good career path lying ahead of me. )
So what we need to acquire if we need 7C's? What are the additional 2? To be honest, I have no idea of it. I am having a pure guess. Any others have some recommendation to fill up the 2 C's?
My guess:
6 C : Certificate ( Something that i already have before coming to the working life)
7 C : Charm (which i guess forever i wil not fit into this adjective. haiz.. )

Ruin Somebody's day
Besides the complaint lodged to the bank, actually i screwed another people in Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara. FYI, i have lost all my cards accidentally and im going to replace them one by one.
I had replace my myKad on the next working day which was 2 weeks ago where they informed me that after 2 weeks, i shall collect my ID. I went to JPN and they told me that my card is still processing. Again, i just whacked the guy straight on his face.
"You punya rakan kerja beritahu saya bahawa saya boleh ambil 2 minggu kemudian, sekarang 2 minggukan?
"Err, sistem kata under process, u boleh check melalui website, sms, call untuk confirm status baru mari."
"You punya orang kan ada piagam pelanggan? Passport pun hanya perlu 3 jam, u myKad tak ada kah? "
"Ya, kami tak ada piagam, u orang kena check baru datang."
(who say no? refer to the bottom part of this link.)
By repeating the same thing asking me check before coming to the office, im fade up with his attitude. And he was so unfortunate that before he attended to me, he asked me to insert my queue number into a rating box with a scale of 4: sangat memuaskan, (forgot), tidak memuaskan. After i listened to all his rubbish, i decided to vote for the worst. Im the second customer this morning. The first one had just threw away the queue number and i was the first who vote him for the day.
p/s: that's not the only fact to my judgement, another reason which have me vote him for the worst is because he still applying hand lotion at his working time 7.30am and only start work at 7.35, and another few minutes for him to start the pc, key in ID bla bla bla!!!

A letter to SCB
To whom it may concern,
I'm totally dissatisfied with the customer service being delivered by Standard Chartered customer care representatives. Besides, there is no standardization across the message being delivered.
Background:
I've reported a lost credit card and requested a card replacement. I received a call from SCB to do the second verification process which was completed on 7 Mar. The CSR told me that within 3-4 working days i will receive the credit card, and once again i confirmed with her that it should be delivered to my office address.
First call experience:
Since i have an urgency for the card, i have called in to check the status and requested to have self collection. I'm glad at this point of time, he had promised me that he will raise to the vendor and expedite the process since self collection is not feasible.
Second call experience:
I have been waiting for 7 working days, and i called in at end of the 7th working day. He told me that it is underway to my office. He has been telling me that i have to wait for 7 working days for the card delivery which i have wondering why does it take to so long to deliver within KL area. The line dropped.
Third call experience:
I waited for a while and there is no follow up calls from SCB. Do you all really care the customers that called in? Nonetheless, i called in again. This CSR told me a second version with more 'updated' status. He told me that the card was delivered on the 11 Mar, and i was being reassured by him that i will be receiving my card on the following day. I asked him for his confirmation and he was pretty sure on this. I have voiced my disappointment as well as my dissatisfaction. He pronounced himself as 'Riza'. In just 10mins time, the status can be changed so differently.
Forth call experience:
The CSR was Kitsiri. His first reply to me on the status was the card is on delivery should be reaching my hand soon. I gave him a second chance to confirm his statement and he say yes! I screwed him terribly and he refresh the system and told me another version. "Sorry Mr, I have just refresh the screen and it showed the CC was a returned mail from POS laju." Are the CSRs know which is the latest information to be communicated? I asked him for a solution for me and he did not appear helpful in the sense of assisting the customer. I requested to talk to his superior-'Cynthia' but he refused to. I'm not sure whether he refused to, or his superior want to be denial. I told him straight to his face that, what are the facts that he is going to convince me? I requested to talk to his superior because i want someone to hold the accountability and tell me what is going on there!!
In short, SCB CSRs are just trying to please the customers at that point of time with no follow up actions, no effort in assisting the customers, and to tell all the false statements. A 'great' Customer Service from a foreign bank. 'Good JOB'!!!!
Start counting from today,i do not know how many days i have to wait to get back my credit card. From urgently needed, becoming a card which is nice to have.
Rgds

Slaves
Well, a good 'masterpiece' of mine had set myself up in front of my boss. Shit!
Not long ago, one of the actuarial staff asked me the name of one of my colleagues in finance department. He wanna send her email but do not know her full name. He said that he is maintaining a floor plan map which have all the actuarial names and their seating location. He asked me to extend it for the second half of the floor which is the finance department.
Guess many of them would see me as the best person in doing so as I'm the one who know almost 99% of the staff besides the secretary. Some of the actuarial new trainee, I might not know them but if i have the chance i will try to make friends with them.
Hence, i agreed with him and try to extend the map. However, his map was too simple and i can't stop myself from re-building another new one with colour labelling.
I build this with the intention of internal circulation and hence my wording would be more informal. I labelled those senior management team (manager and above) but not the rest. I labelled all as 'Other Slaves'
I sent my latest version to the secretary to the CFO and also the founder of the map. However, the secretary directly sent it to the bosses telling me that they like to have this kind of floor plan so that they can know their staffs better.
The problem was, they notified me after they sent to bosses when they found out the label. I was like stunned. She even quoted my name:" Produced by vincent."
OMG!!! I dunno whether the bosses aware of the label anot but i hope they wont have hard feeling over that. haiz!!

Overtaking!
Driving in KL and Kampar is absolutely two different things. In KL, you have to cut in here and there in order to reach your destination on time. I'm not expecting reach earlier but just to be on time, unless you are traveling at real non-peak hour (mid-night).
Hence, driving in KL for more than a year, i already used to the traffic here and also how to cut in when i need to cut in. However there is something that i dislike very much.
Although i cut into other lanes, but i will ensure myself that i give the signal, of course it will be 2 seconds before i wanna cut in. This step is just to protect myself upon any accident and i am questioned by the police that why no signals given.
But sometimes, i give signals when i was stuck in the jam to switch lane. I hate those motorbikes that coming from far and im sure he/she see my signaling, but still this JB will horn you like hell and stare at you when he/she cross by. If you do not want to let others switch lane, keep your speed and knock the fellow off, else just let me do so and keep your horn silent. If i were the one who cause you to have emergency brake, i will say sorry.
I have a damn good feel today. Why? Coz i lose in on switching lane game. I gave signal, but that stupid, lcly,JB, f**king toyota keep pushing in.Again, I'm sure i gave him enough time to brake and let me go through, but jsut he don't want to let me doing so and horned me. I din even bother to look at him but just look at another direction.
I was provoked to 'fight' with him and my car was going to kiss the back of the car in front. At this time, a van from my left having a better position successfully cut in and hence i lose in the fight. However coz that toyota wanna fight with me, he continue to accelerate and he was so close with the van.
Neither of them wanna stop and continue going, and i was like watching a movie. I was so glad that finally, the van 'kissed' the toyota and his side mirror is scratched. Yes! Bingo!!!! He deserved it!!!
Although i lose, but i was happy. Lol!!

24 Feb 2010
Date : 24 Feb 2010
Venue : Maju Palace Restaurant
Time : 12 – 3pm
This was CNY ‘Open Work’ meal for staff under CFO office. =) Rarely to have a chance to gather all, and hence before that let me try to introduce all the staffs (those captured in pic).
CFO, Directors, and their secretaries (some of them)

Finance Operations

Actuarial, BIU, Finance

My normal lunch mate and also my gang

Purely actuarial

1 Prudential..

Finance Ops, Expense

Hey what are you doing while CFO was giving a speech?

Our aim!!

Main dishes!!
Lou Sang!

You know what is the chant for this?

My colleagues said that if company hit RM1b aspiration target this year, he will get marry, hence: “1billion, bonus, wedding” LOL
Shark Fin! (Fake one)

Another Fish Fin. LOL

Chicken!

Abalone mushroom!

Desserts

Miscellaneous!
He was so happy with the meal. He is a diver and he seems like bringing the underworld to here.

My second time saw 方炯宾appear in female singer list. What the hell is that?

Big family picture!!

Date : 24 Feb 2010
Venue : Sunway Convention Centre
Time : 6-11pm
The same day, I was offered to attend another Awards Presentation Night in Sunway Convention Centre. This was a Regional one and there will be another 2 colleagues attending the National one.
The first 4 dishes were actually the same with what i had at noon time. Lousang, Shark Fin (of course this time real one), Chicken and Patin Fish. Lol
I like the costume..

Chinese Dance

Change Face and Clothes performance. We saw the flaw and actually someone pulling the costume behind the board, but not sure bout the face.

However, when the CEO came around the table, my table left my colleague and me alone. It’s like finance was having one table for the event. Many of them were asking what finance doing over there? To be frank, we served no purpose but for us a strategic team, it is good for us to know the people and ease our work in future.
Sad to note, CEO had banned our request to attend National. Not sure what was the reason but then so disappointing! Luckily I was able to attend at least the Regional.
