It's the convo time for almost all the local universities. Their ceremoy are held all around these threee days and it recalled about my own convocation as well.
My memories just cropped into my mind, the time with my coursemates, the time being scolded by Prof, the time being with my housemates, everything was so fresh in mind. We worked together in order to graduate, we played together as a friend, and some of them might cried together for assignments. I missed the time indeed.
It has been one year after my graduation, in other words, i worked for a year, i earned for a year, i paid my car installment for a year, i survive for a year. However, what else i have besides this?
Did I earn something? Nope. My bank account still at a pretty low amount.
Did a achieve anything? Nope, i have no success throughout this one year. There is no milestone for me in my first beginning year.
Did i find my partner for my life? Haha, obviously NOPE also!!!
Did i find my future? I can't see so currently and im in a misery of what i intended to be in my next couple of years.
A brief summary of my first year: - Blank

What the hell??
As you all know, the previous maid lefft to her hometown already with my passport. Hence, my auntie get another one for her service.
This time, they are hiring Cambodian rather than Indonesian as their perception was, Cambodian not as smart as Indonesian. How true is the statement? No idea!! The only thing that i know is they cant speak / understand Malay. I will believe that this will be one of the priveleges as they can't communicate with other male foreign workers nearby and subsequently to have some bad plans in mind.
However, her language has become a barrier to us also. Her only and only communication language will be English. Normally, the elders will deal more with her especially in the kitchen. You all should know the level of English that they can master. Luckily, my auntie at least know simple sentences. But not for my uncle.
FYI, I have 3 cousin sisters, where 2 of them graduated from NZ, and the youngest one is a kindergarden teacher. By right, their english is more than enough to communicate with her, even for myself, i should be able to communicate well with her. However, it turns out another way.
Now, their English level like downgraded to even worse then kindergarden students. They use the simplest word, not a structured sentence, with repetition, and with lots of eee, eeee, aaaaa, aaaaaa. Funny man. But to be honest, i also can't really speak well to her. I can't understand her English is one point, she can't get my question is another point. Is just like the chinese proverb:" chiken talking to the duck."
*vomit*
This is even worse to my uncle. He totally can't speak in English, and he kept talking to her in Malay. Obviously, the maid can't understand and when she question back, he can't understand as well. Ends up no one do the job. My uncle keeps complaining to his family, saying that the maid is no good and ignoring his order. What can you do when you can't understand the duty? Funny..
Few days ago, my uncle back from work and he noticed some arrangments by the maid was not to his satisfaction. He was frustated and went to the maid. You will never know how he spoke to her and it's damn funny man!!!
He scolded her for some time and bear in mind that, it was in Malay. The maid showing her with an innocent face, can't get any single point.
Before he ended it, he suddenly popped out with:
"What the hell!!!!"
Haha, imagine someone who can't speak in English, he knows about "What the hell!" His daughter didn't say anything, and instead they were curious why he know about this phrase.
When they reillustrated it back to me, i replied them:
"Soon, your father will know another phrase which is: What the Fuck!!! "
Lol!!!!

My EXCO
Having dinner once with the Chiefs of my company, I found out that besides the soberness they are having, they never lose their sense of humour as well… Below are some of the picks of the night. Before that some background:
Event : EXCO Offsite
Venue : Hilton Hotel, KL
This was my second time for offsite and previous visit was to Mandarin Oriental Hotel. On and off they will have this offsite meeting to discuss some of the major plans for the company or just to discuss in a more relaxed manner. Though I appreciate the opportunity given, but I really stress especially the night before when my team is still rushing for slides. Stress comes from slides that I did. Since I will be there the next day, im afraid that there are some mistakes / errors presented and we will be questioned on the spot. Notwithstanding this, we might be questioned on how we derive the numbers or required to justify the numbers. That’s the most terrible part which I always encounter. Justify!!!
It is reasonable for my worries as I did that before. I sent out a deck, during the time being presented, audience spotted errors as the numbers cannot be casted down. Worst part was, I show negative growth for linked business which is our strongest platform and it is impossible to happen.
Although nobody scolded me so far, but I felt guilty for doing such a silly, careless mistake. I was comforted by my ex-boss where the deck consists of bunch of numbers and it is normal to have mistakes. Besides, I have another 2 tiers or reviewer and it is their responsibilities to ensure the quality of the deck. Haiz.. Anyway, not the highlight for this post.. =)
In previous practice, we were not invited for dinner and they will enjoy their dinner themselves leaving us – the slaves behind. Finally, we were invited for nothing or perhaps can say appreciation.
Let’s come to picks of the night:
Chief Agency Officer (CAO):
A new CHRO was appointed in June and she is concern over the numbers and statistics which is quite different with the preceding CHRO. One of the thing she was looking at was the OT claim. Her staff approached CAO questioning him why his driver always OT until late night.
No explanation from him on this, but his real mind was-
“What the hell asking my drivers OT, when they were on OT, I am also doing my work. Why nobody compensating me on this or any concern? The drivers just need to wait and doing nothing in the car or even sleep for few hours where I’m still ‘fighting’ outside? The only moment that I sleep is when the driver is driving.”
He was absolutely right for this. Ring of laughters..
Chief Financial Officer (CFO):
The second course of the dinner was Shark’s Fin with lots of other nice stuff in there like mushrooms, sea cucumber etc. However our CFO doesn’t eat shark’s fin. There was another girl who doesn’t eat that, but it was due to she is a diver. Most of the divers won’t eat shark’s fin. Somebody from the table threw a question to CFO: “Why you do not eat shark’s fin? Is it due to allergy, preference, or religion?”
FYI, CFO is a muslim.
Somebody asking: “May I know which religion prohibits from eating shark’s fin?” Another ring of laughters. However, at this moment, CFO popped out with a reply:
“I believe in ‘Sharkism’” …. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Chief Product & Marketing (CMO):
He joined us not long ago and previously he was with Prudential, Korea. He was telling us his experience of driving in Msia compared to the time in Korea.
“We keep our cars in a distance to the car in front when on the road even during the jam. However, if I practice the same here, my car won’t be moving at all. Msian’s driving style – they will just cut in whenever there is a 1 inch gap. No way, but I have to move very close to reach my destination.” =)
“Besides, in Korea, we need to focus on left and right and of course the front view. In Msia, besides the 180 degrees from our eyesight, we need to expand it to 360 degrees. If you are not alert, you will be knocked by motorcyclists coming from all direction without following their own lane. I’m like so stress where I can’t move apart slightly from my existing lane. You will knock them down.”
So the advice to him, never give a signal when u want to cut in. Just cut in and give signal after that.. lol!!

Paintball
The first time I played paintball was last year December through the organizing of my company’s sport club. I din really have time to upload this event to my blog but now, I will combine both sessions together.
I was same team with actuarial (I promised them before my ex-boss engaged me). Since im the coordinator of the team, the calling of the team followed my department – Finance which they booed me on that day when the organizer labeled us as finance team. LOL.. However, this was the bridge that brought actuarial team and me together. Previously, we really seldom talk to each other as they were very busy doing their prophet running which I had totally no idea on it. They shared the same topic but not with me, and sometimes I find it really quite difficult to squeeze into their community.
But why I would like to squeeze in? It is just because there are more hot chicks over there rather than old auntie gang over my side..haha.. In fact, we are about the same age and hence I feel that we should have some common topic. The only interesting people in Finance is just my team where I always been with them, hence I need to expand my social network. If I can’t tackle any them, at least I will have some spy on my future targets - trainee.. haha
Back to the event, this was held in Sunway Extreme Park but not the open field. It is somewhere in the jungle where we played on a mud field. The game play was to grab the flag, whichever team who successfully bring their flag back to the base will be announced as the winner. Very luckily, my team was ranked as the second runner up with my great sacrifice as below… Of course, many of them experienced the same as me, but just that I was at the front line to grab the flag and of course I will be the centre of the aiming.. (besides, im having large surface area exposed)
I just have some of the pics pre n post of the event but not during the game.. haiz...
My team member's wound
This was mine
With the experience and tactical strategies learned in my first time of playing, I applied in my second game with my buddies (MDBC).
Venue : My Gopeng Resort
Date : 2 Aug 2009
Time : Should start at 10.30am but ended up at 11.30am ( style of MDBC)
Pax : 21 in total. (inclusive of 14 MDBC out of 17, 7 non MDBC)
The venue:
A very nice game indeed, and we truly enjoyed ourselves as many of us were struggling in the boring working life. It’s a bit tiring, but then its worth for your sweat and blood. Thanks to the organizer (whoever he is).
However, there was something imperfect here. As the marshals said, you din enjoy urself if you din get shot in this event. Pain though, but that’s the fun!! And out of the 21 fellows, I was the only one didn’t get hit at all and won 4 matches. I assumed that many of the readers will think that, because I hide all the time, that’s why I din get shot, but let me clarify here, I was the one who grabbed the flag for two games consecutively and one of my shoes was even stucked in the swamp. Ngek ngek…..
Finally, I’m proud with my bulky yet tangkas body. All of them placed the bet that I will the first one to be eliminated (first game was survival game with last man standing) just because of my size. WTF!! I have no confidence to challenge them though as I feel that I will be the target as well.. =(
Luckily one of the marshals guided me with some of the tips on the geographic condition which I fully utilized the privileges of that and won the game. Thanks to you Lisa!!
7 games played:
First : Eastgod vs Monkey team (bold was the winner) – last man standing with only one life
Second : Optimus vs SWAT – last man standing with only one life
Third : Eastgod vs SWAT – Grab the flag
Forth : Optimus vs Monkey – Grab the flag
Fifth : Top 10 plaers – Grab the flag (of course im in this and I won, wahaha)
Since many pellets left over, lets go for the sixth game:
Sixth : 6 of us vs 3 marshals – unlimited life until pellets finished or surrender (we lose, they were insane and many of us lose due to surrender, bleeding all over the body, but this was the best game.
Having some pellets again, the last game
Seventh : 2v2 – similar game play with the sixth game (personal revenge)
Whoa!!!! A very nice game!!!
Come on, lets start the game!!
