Danum Valley 1

A so called 4 days 3 night camp, Danum Valley had fixed to set off at 4.15pm from my live place! And this ady call one day! Fuck it!!! Even worse was that there were too many delays in the schedule! I waited from 4pm till 5pm something, the bus finally parked in my sight! Indeed, it disappointed me! For a long journey of 12 hours travel (estimated time), I expected I can have the uni bus which can fit 40 pupils and large enough for you to sleep! However it came this two small bus with 30 seats and jibaily narrow space available.





Even though the bus came but it was not the beginning of the journey. We still have to turn back to UMS chancellor hall for a simple and useless opening ceremony!! (Of course they had to satisfy my hunger before that) Here, we divided into groups, get know each other within the group, choose our leader and group name!! (seems like those primary students thing, but in fact it is usefull). These were my groupmates and the tall guy was my leader Carl Ooi!!!



With respect to our leader name, our group named similarly as his name Group Cowin!! Cow = similar sound Win = our group will win ….So here the Cowin team borned!!!

After 3 hours ‘torturing’ me there, finally 8.30pm, we officially departed from UMS heading Danum Valley! It was about 470km from KK but it took time due to the uneven road along the way as we had to pass through many hills!!!! With the small space in the bus, I cant even sleep tight in the bus. Instead, I feel unsecured! The bus driver was too professional on this type of driving skill!!! Speeding on an inclined plane and less braking when turning! Wow! I really worry what would happen if it really falls???

We just break for few times during the journey but it took a long time which postpone many of the programme next day! Estimated time to reach was 8am the next morning which suppose to reach the campsite. However we just reached the edge of the mountain. There is about 70km to go with which cost us 3 more hours!!


We are going to Danum Valley Field Centre and BRL!!

Once we reached there guess what welcome us? Not local committees, not ajk, but was an ‘mountain pig’ 山猪. Lets have a look on his face!! I heard its big name long time ago but now only was my first time to have a near look on it!!



Now, we checked in to our hostel!! As for me I quite satisfied with this but the only flaw is too hot at night, as they are using generator for electricity supply. Once after 12 it was automatically cut off and you have to stay in dark!!!







Here is the laboratory for the researchers and inside there has library, notebook and so on!!!



After an one hour briefing, we set off to BRl. We were separated into two large groups which the first going trekking to waterfall which I din have the chance to go tru it! The second group which I belongs to set off to the BRl to have s short jungle trekking to view two beautiful waterfalls. This was taken while im waiting the bus!!(my sister)

Before coming to this place, we were traveling on uneven road. And now we were traveling on uneven, rocky road! Due to this condition, even a short distance to the BRl but it took me 1 and a half hour to reach there!!!

Later on, we went for out last activity which I looking forward before I came to this camp.—tyre tubing!! It was sad as the current of the river that evening was no so fast enough to make me enjoy myself. But just treat it as one of my experience collection lor!! At least I tried! I will try a longer trail with stronger current at other place one day in Sabah!!!!


These was my first 2 days at Danum!!! Stay tune for the third and forth!!! I lost many photos. I have to gather it from other camera source!!! Hard to be done in a short time!!

guts is important!!!!!!!!

In our normal life, initiative is very important. We should move our first step in order to success or just to grab the opportunity that exist! However recently I found that there is another element that gives the greatest effect! That is your guts!!

Guts come first than your initiative. If you din even have the guts to do the thing, what do you expect for? Never hope from others that they will do something for you to make things better! They wont! I do believe in the saying that :” If you think you can, you can.” Everything can lose but you cant ever lost your confidence! No matter what that submerged your confident, try to rebuild it in another way!

穷则变, 变则通, 通则久. There are many means to reach your goal, don’t be too conservative or too persist on your own opinion. It never helps. Try to accept others advices and opinion. Blaming contributes nothing to the case! When yourself decided to give up, then no matter how strong you are in the field, you will never success!

In my previous camp, I came across people that reflect their real childishness! They din even know the basic living skills or necessity! When problem surfaces just know to be panic and blaming but do nothing much in thinking a solution for it! They are too dependant over something, no matter people, or medical support! They hardly can adapt to different condition. They are used to stick with the previous comfortable live style that they do!

I should be thankful to my mom that permitted me to join so many activities during my school life which build what is me today! Im not perfect right now but at least I will try my best to adapt! I would prefer me who change rather than the situation to adapt me which is less possibility! If you cant learn this, then undoubtly you cant survive in this competitive world!

There are a kind of people which is funny! They can treat their own problem as others problem! They wont think that the matter is on themselves! They thought that all people should tolerate with them and they need not to do anything to improve! However, you cant say they are self centered, but just they are thinking like an idiot only!

They are many things I haven try out right now. I know my physical is not capable for many thing but at least im willing to try. The worst result or the cost of taking it will not be your life!! Then why not try it out? You should only give up after you try it! Things easy to say then done. Till now i still have two things that I dare not to try….. genting – spaceshoot and bungyjump!!

I hope one day I could overcome it!

Danum Valley

25/11/2006 4.00am!!

I was just back home at 2 am something from my 4 days 3 nights camp at Danum Valley!! It costs me about 14 hours by bus travel to this deserted place! It is known as a field centre and there were many researchers having their research here about the wildlife, flora and fauna! Many phD graduated here as well according to their introduction and video clips!

In Danum Valley, there has a place named BRL (Borneo Rainforest Lodge) . I spent a day there for tyre tubing, trekking and waterfall sightseeing!! I been there for 4 days 3 nights but there were 1 day 1 night i spent in the bus! According their normal schedule for the tourist, i even worse than that. Maybe it was due to our large amount of campers which was hard to handle efficiently, furthermore all are adults!!!

As for me, the problem that matters here is your fitness. Just a one day trekking, i sudah beh tahan! Probably i lack exercise during the exam month and now the moment im typing this blog, im suffering. There are too many lactic asid accumulated in my tigh, tibia, and my shoulder!! Who can put some alkaline for me? Help!!!!

That is the introduction of where im going and hope that i can update my blog soon with real pictures and experiences!!! The right moment i should sleep! Perhaps you wont see me till evening as i in coma condition!! LOL

Goodbye for exam in 2006

The time is near, the time had come! Finally i was flee from the claws of those idiots under UMS academic team! I was mindly tortured for around 3 weeks with 8 distinct subjects which leads a 22 credit hour for this semester. I had done all my best for the exam throughout the year! I will never sit for any exam more for year 2006. Thanks god!!

2 weeks later, result will be released! I just have 2 weeks time to enjoy my holiday! After that sure my mood will be affected by my bad result! I have to prepare again for my new semester whereas other students still enjoying their holiday till christmas!! For now, just kick the fucking academic stuff aside and go for my time!!

21/11/06, i will be going for a camping at Danum Valley which is a forest located 10 hours-drive from KK! It is held for 4 days 3 nights and that means i wont be available in blogsphere for 4 days! Although there are no one who miss me but at least i have someone to miss with!!!

Today i had went to KK to buy all the stuff for my holiday and my camp necessity! Salt for leech, shoes for trekking, biscuits to feed myself, choc for my fren and so on! I had broke for today! I totally over budget for my day! At night i went for 'Casino Royale' (james bond series).

I should say thanks to my further maths lecturer as it was him who make me have the feel of being so hapi and free afer exam! However i still have to hate him as was him to postpone my hapiness so late. So envy walking along the street and every sole with a jibaily hapi expression, with the phrase ' i finish exam jo' on the forehead! Hate them. But now i can do the same to them!! This is my first holiday spent in Sabah and i hop ei will enjoy it!

A picture worth a thousands words!!

Posts before i had describe UMS library is just like a dumping area for UMS students! There will be no tidy arrangement fos the racks and books. Now let me show you the proof!!





Even with the label at each rack, but you will never find the particular book you want in this condition. People will never so good enough to put back the book he/she view in the previous order. Just put somewhere as convenient as possible! Or sometimes just leave it on the table!

Many times i checked the computer system, the book was available in the system and there were 3 copies for that! However following the calling code you will never find the book at its place! You will get it only if you have fate with it!!

I think the best in the library will be the nobel collection!! im lazy to enter so i just take some picture outside!!!

my feeling

Im writing my own feeling now!!! Right at 0030, my heart feeling pain! Why ?????

Started from the first day of the exam period 30/10/06, i felt so free and relax till the moment i have now. (unless night before exam) As for me, exams that come first to me is quite easy and it is going harder and harder as the time goes by!! I had finish three of my paper, linear algebra, statistic, and japan language!! Only 3 subjects and they were distributed in 2 weeks time.

Next week starting from monday, i will be suffering with four consecutive subjects. monday follow by tuedaday then wednesday and the one at friday! 4 papers in one week. THis is how systematic for UMS academic administration. Even worse is the papers are which i hardly can do well. All come in once.........For your acknowledgement, one of the subject i din even have a full notes on it.. What i have is pile of notes worth RM7.00 Can you imagine how many pages are there? Few! The exam syllabus will be four essay question... u better kill me!!!

Days before this im teasing others who reading for their exams while i was playing or wawtching movie there. Everyday sleep till 3pm. However, now they have the time to relax at hometown. Many of my friends will be finishing their exam in this few days time. They are going back to hometown. My heart dropped to the bottom. My heart fly with them back to my hometown.. But i never have the chance!!

4 of my housemates are leaving next week. The week i suffer the most! What in store for me next week, whether good or bad? i dont know!! For sure i only can try my best ...

Miracles

Suns not rising from the west!! It was not as what mr. Diao commentted on my previous post! The very next morning after i went to the library, 'miracles' do happen again!!

First miracle - i woke up by my own before 10, in fact that day there is no any examination. (normal earliest record for this condition will be 12 sumthg!!!!)

Second miracle - I went to library and stayed there for more than 6 hours. I had put all my efforts in the library. Hope it gives me same value of return!!!

Third miracle - I ate at 10 for my brunch (just mee) and i can survived til 7.30pm with less water consumption as i was in library. No food or drinks are allowed in it and im so lazy to walk in and out. I bear my hunger in a temperature i think less than 16 celcius!!!

Actually all these normally happened to others but for me im an abnormal maybe!! Coz im lazy, coz i slp late, coz i hate library, coz i always eat as i have a convenient transportation for myself. These are nothing to many people but it affected my 'normal' life!!!

My 6 hours were all spent on SPSS (statistical pakej for social science). Indeed, it gave me return today. It consists of 30 MCQ and 2 subjective questions. Happy to say that i supposed that i did my very best and well in this. The only factor that matters were my small test and midterm marks. Hope it wont reallya gives any effect to my well done paper today!!!

Should take a nap now and study for my next paper tomolo!!!

Library!!!

Incredibly, I went to library on Sunday! With one of my friend’s company, I stayed there for 4 hours above!! I cant believe I can do that. I had took 2 exams for my first year and I never been there to read for my final!! Thanks to the friend that ‘forced’ me to be there!!

UMS Library has a vague impression in my mind! It is just a place for me to fulfill my requirements for my assignment. As my memories hold, first semester for my first year, i went there just to online with my laptop! Later on, I changed to the service of TmNet hotspot made me even less visit to the library! I can just online next to my hostel!

Strictly spoke, there were only twice I fully treat library as a library! First was when Im doing my SPNM assignment. My title was to make a review on certain books. It was a group assignment and 4 of us searching every corner at the library to get all the books available for my title! That was my first!

Second time I went there just happened last month! Again it was to make a review on certain journals or thesis. As we know, journals have to buy if you want to view it. For thesis, where else you can get others from library? All these cant be done through internet and totally make me die!! Since the night I went to library searching for thesis I was the last, I even dunno where was the part and which floor thesis and journals located at! What a joke as I been at UMS for a year!!! Worse than those juniors who know more on the procedures and ways…

When I was on the way to library, I even don’t know will the library open today and when it will close. Im lack of all these information. Now ady Monday and I decided to go library once again before my next paper on Tuesday! Maybe if there is someone accompany to library reading, I think I will. Coz I really can read there more than in my house. More efficeient!!!! LOL

"keluarga saya"

Semua orang di dunia ini ada keluarga. Keluarga ialah family dalam bahasa orang putih. Keluarga mempunyai ayah, ibu, abang, kakak, adek, nenek, datuk pakcik, makcik dan etc etc.

Pertama kali saya ingin memberi tahu bahawa semua orang di dunia ini mempunyai keluarga yang aman damai dan idak beperang tetapi ada juga tidak aman damai kerana mereka beperang.

Saya ingin menceritakan pula tentang keluarga saya. Saya mempunyai seorang ibu dan ayah tetapi ibu saya kata dia pernah tidur dengan tiga orang lelaki di hotel di mana dengan itu sah bahawa saya ini anak luar nikah kerana darah saya berlain jena dengan ayah saya yang ada di rumah ini. Ayah tidak peduli bila ibu keluar dengan lelaki lain. Ibu pula tidak risau jika ayah tidak pulang ke rumah walaupun hampir satu bulan.

Kakak dan abang saya tidak lagi bersekolah kerana mereka sudah berhenti. Kakak saya cantik seperti mirip wajah marilyn monroe yang sudah mati itu. Dia mati kerana terlanggar motokar datuk saya yang enjinnya berkuasa 500cc.

Abang saya handsome atau kacak seperti Amitabh Bachan atau Sunjay Dutt, kadang muka dia berubah seperti Aacapan bila dia baru bangun tidur. Bila dia habis mandi muka dia macam muka dia sendiri. Itulah kelebihan abang saya.

Seterusnya saya menceritakan tentang adik saya. Walaupun saya tidak ada adik tetapi saya tipu kamu dengan mengatakan bahawa saya ada adik.

Demikianlah tentang cerita tentang keluarga saya bahagia walaupun sebenarnya tidak. Sekian harap maklum.
